Why the Universe is the Way it Is

Review and discussion of the book by Dr. Hugh Ross

led by Rod Nave, Ph.D., Dept of Physics and Astronomy, Georgia State University
Abstract

The fine-tuned features of the universe that make life possible on earth point strongly to a God. But materialists and naturalists, who reject the notion of God, prefer to see Earth as a tiny, insignificant planet in a vast universe - unworthy of the attention of a Creator even if there were one! And yet they cannot help but ask the great "Why" questions. "Why is there something rather than nothing?" "Why is the universe so vast?" "Why is it so old?" "Why is it decaying?"

In his book "Why the Universe is the Way it Is" Hugh Ross makes a strong case that the best answers come from a combination of the Bible and the findings of modern science.
