Maid of the Mist and Niagara FallsAugust 3, 2000We drove down to Niagara Falls, about an hour and a half from Guelph, Ontario where we were staying. We first took a bus tour of the area and had them drop us off at the Maid of the Mist as the last stop. Below we are onboard with the blue raincoats provided, and behind us is the magnificent American Falls. This is about the perspective from where we boarded the boat. In the photo of the Maid of the Mist below that we had taken earlier, you can see how near the American Falls our boat trip carried us. From the boat, we could see these two other boats taking the same tour toward the horseshoe falls. That is the famous part of the trip since the boat goes up into the mist below the falls. The view below was taken later from the Canadian side, showing one of the Maid of the Mist boats near the horseshoe falls. You can see a little bit of the rainbow. After the boat tour we got someone to take our picture with the American falls in the background. The number of people who were being taken on the tour was amazing. In a very efficient operation, the boat was full again after we had been off a very few minutes.
