Lite the Nite Festival

October 31, 2006

And to stand every morning to thank and praise the Lord, and likewise at even.
I Chronicles 23:30

Mableton First Baptist continued it's tradition of Light the Nite, a celebration for the community in which everyone was encouraged to dress in "non-scary" costumes and come for a celebration of Halloween. We cooked about a thousand hotdogs and gave out over a thousand soft drinks and lots of other food. There was a great spirit, and it was really neat to see so many families from the neighborhood.

A new item for this year's celebration was "Trunk or Treat", the decoration of a vehicle and the giving out of treats to those who came by. Pastor Tim greets the Danser girls, dressed up as cheerleaders. At right Jonathan Cooler gives out treats from his "boo-mobile".

Lee Pattison's "trunk or treat" was his pickup truck. The fact that he had candy made it very attractive to costumed Andrew, who seemed to be quite pleased with what he got.

Shelby Anderson's beautiful Candyland was a popular stop.
Don and Linda Skinner brought in the sports theme with their Georgia Bulldawgs station and attracted Kevin Lopez in his Star Trek costume and a beautiful Hispanic princess.
