Visit to Branson, Missouri

September 30-October 5, 2014

Suzanne accompanied us and was our guide to Branson from Newport since she had been several times. We checked into a Wyndham facility and then took off to pick up Jeff at the Springfield airport. This picture is of downtown Branson on October 1.

Jeff had a national conference of the American Association of Christian Counselors at the Hilton Convention Center in the old downtown area. This prompted us to consider this visit. Suzanne and Brenda shopped in the downtown area and then we planned to attend the Dixie Stampede. October 1.

Jeff, Suzanne, Brenda and Rod had their picture taken on the way into the Dixie Stampede performance.

We got to see some of the horses on the way into the Dixie Stampede. It is a dinner performance, which was preceded by an outstanding juggling act.

We settled in around the arena for the dinner show.

Below is the ending ceremony since I wasn't supposed to take pictures during the performance.

We got to see some of the performers lead their horses back to the stalls as we were leaving.

October 2. This is a view of the Wyndham units like the one we were in, clustered around a nice pond and stream. I took Jeff to his conference about 8am. Shirley arrived from Little Rock about 10:30 and she, Suzanne and Brenda went out to explore the Titanic exhibit and planned to do the riverboat dinner cruise for the evening.

Shirley, Brenda and Suzanne boarded the Showboat, the Branson Belle for a dinner cruise and show.

I was glad the ladies were on the riverboat by 4, because shortly afterward we had a dramatic thunderstorm with lightning bolts every few seconds. I drove through that to pick up Jeff at the convention center about 5:30 and we went to a little Mexican restaurant, Casa Fuentes, for supper.
