Fall Activities 2018

October 9. Elyse has been in the dance group at her school, and was chosen for an allstar dance team to dance at halftime at a Saints game in the Superdome in New Orleans.

Besides getting to dance in the Superdome at halftime, they got to watch the game.

We were pleased that Darla got to have this experience with Elyse. Besides being proud of Elyse, she is quite a Saints fan, so we're guessing that the whole process was a treat for her.

October 10. Brenda and Rod continue to work with Second Grade Awanas. After game, snack and small group sessions, we usually go to the music suite for music. But on this night we had the "Skit Guys" to present a skit on temptation. This photo includes Grades 1-5 Awanas.

October 13. Elyse continues to do drama, and we understand that this was a drama sketch from Midsummer Night's Dream.
The drama was well-received by the audience as the troup took a bow below. This was a part of the TAP festival for performing arts, which we attended in 2015.

On December 8 & 9, the MFBC choir presented their Christmas musical program.

Members of our Awana choir under the direction of Leah and John Cobler joined on some of the songs in the Christmas program.

While out walking on December 17, I was treated to a view of part of the crane migration. You always hear the distinctive sound first. It seems a bit late this year. We have sometimes seen them near Thanksgiving time.

The cranes were flying by the daylight view of the moon just east of our house. But I have to admit to cheating and moving the moon to that point in the photo above.

The sound of the cranes is beautiful and mesmerizing. There is no mistaking their collective call.

In just thirty minutes or so I was treated to the view of several big V's going overhead.
