Thanksgiving Dinner

After all the fine effort by the ladies, we were finally ready to sit down to Thanksgiving dinner.

Brenda, Jeff and Darla were joined by Stacy - we were pleased that she could join us for dinner.

After dinner we always want to get some group shots of the family. Back: we were pleased that Sherry made it down from Woodstock, then Darla and Jeff, and Stacy was able to be with us, then Mark and Brenda. In front Jordan, Elyse and Ashleigh.

It was a blessing to get Jeff's whole family together, even if we did have to fly Jordan and Ashleigh in from New Orleans after their Tuesday classes.

One unusual activity for after dinner was playing with some old organ pipes. Mark and John Weeks had gone to evaluate a shaper that was for sale, and found themselves in an old organ construction site. They were clearing the location and about to throw the organ pipes in the dumpster. Mark collected a sizable collection of pipes and brought them out to our house. The pipes covered a whole octave.

It turned out that we could put together a set of pipes to play "Jesus Loves Me" and Ashleigh, Jordan and Elyse produced a good rendition of the tune (after a few tries and a lot of laughs).

With a sunny and mild day, it was a good time for an outside portrait of Ashleigh, Jordan and Elyse above. Then a closer shot. With Ashleigh and Jordan at Tulane and Loyola in downtown New Orleans, they don't get as much time with Elyse nowadays.

We were very pleased that Matt and Jan Thompson could drop by again this Thanksgiving. They arrived about 5pm and we got to see little Maverick, who was just a baby last year. Stacy got to spend some time with her son and granddaughter. It was good to talk with Matt. He is doing well in his work and is proud of his young family.

We had our circle of prayer and said goodbye to Jeff, Darla and Elyse on Friday morning. Ashleigh and Jordan stayed with us and had studying to do for finals next week. But in the evening the four of us went to the movies to see "Frozen Two". On Saturday morning we launched out early to take Ashleigh and Jordan to the airport for their flight back to New Orleans.
