Visit to Vacaville

September 19-20, 2019

We flew from Atlanta to Sacramento on September 19, got a rental car and drove to Vacaville. Our motel room was not ready, so we drove on down to the south end of Vacaville to Becky's house on Colemanite Circle. We had a good visit with Becky and then returned to our room for the night.

September 20

As we drove back to Becky's about noon, we got views of the beautiful golden hills west of town.

When we reached Becky's, we got to meet the family of her daughter Heather. Billy and Heather Miles, their oldest daughter Bethany in center, Hailey at left, and son Landon. We had met Heather before, and were pleased to meet the family. They had flown from San Antonio, and had spent yesterday exploring San Francisco and seeing the Golden Gate Bridge.

Brenda managed to get both Becky and Rodney in the picture with the Miles family.

Heather took the lead, and with the help of Becky and Brenda, cooked up an abundant turkey dinner. Bob and his wife Vanesa joined us for dinner. We had not previously met Vanesa, who is from the Philippines, so we enjoyed talking with her.

We had a good time of fellowship around this abundant table.

In the evening was the viewing for the family and others at the McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville.

Note the squirrel at the bottom right! The family's sense of humor always comes through, and they were always joking with Wanda about liking squirrels.

It was a good time to get the family together, so we visited for about two hours. Together here are Dasha, John and Mary Kilpatrick, their daughter Julie Davidson, and Bob Hobson.

Here with John we have Dasha holding Roy Kilpatrick's young daughter Kylie, then Danny's daughter Fawn Charette with her son Kenny from Oregon.

Focus on little Kylie, being held by Dasha. To the left of her is Kylie's Mom, then her parents. To the right are Roy and Julie.

Granddad John with Roy and family.

Rodney and Brenda with Fawn and Kenny, and Fawn's parents Wanda and Danny Hobson.
