Welcoming Pastor Doug Thompson

Our new Pastor Doug Thompson is installed by our Transitional Pastor Ian Bowers, who leads us in a joint covenant between Pastor and people.

We were very appreciative of the leadership of Ian Bowers during our time of transition, and appreciative of the work of the pastor search committee. It was chaired by Matthew Smith, who is in the background to the right of Pastor Ian above. The committee was composed of Matthew Smith, Brenda Speight, Sharon English, Dan Horton and Barry Long with alternates Johnny Huffman and Waymon Story.

It was a celebration to welcome Pastor Doug to our pulpit. We had gotten to meet him and the family about a month ago and were looking forward to his joining us on this date.

After the service, the family joined our church, and the congregation got to celebrate with Pastor Doug, his wife Marsha, and the two youngest children Marina(04) and Noah(07). We had also gotten to meet the two older sons Peter(97) and Zechariah(00) and their wives.

Pastor Doug had invited Dr. Jason Loudermilk, Mission Strategist for the West Metro Baptist Association to present the message on this inaugural Sunday.
