Mardi Gras Blessing

February 21-25, 2020

Jeff, Darla, and Elyse left in the afternoon on Friday, February 21, for their Mardi Gras visit with us. They arrived around 10:30pm as I recall and we were, as always, very glad to see them. We relaxed and visited on Saturday. Ashleigh was working on the Tulane campus, and Jordan made a trip to Roatan with her roommate Aly, so we didn't get to see them.

They got to sleep late, then do their runs and workouts, and were sitting down to breakfast at about 11am. We enjoyed the fellowship with them.

Mark made it out to join us about 4pm, so we had a good time visiting together. The bar in the kitchen is just a kind of natural gathering place for talking, so we spend a lot of time there.

Brenda, Jeff, Darla, Mark and Elyse gather for supper and a time of relaxation as a family.

Sunday, February 23

Rod and Brenda headed out for Sunday School and Jeff, Darla and Elyse joined for church. Mark came out to join us for dinner.

Marty joined us as well and we had a very nice dinner and relaxing visit in the afternoon.

Elyse had made a special dessert for Sunday dinner, so we all enjoyed some of that.

Monday, February 24

They had a new game, so after a full day of other activities, Jeff, Darla, Marty and Elyse settled in for some game time on Monday night.

Tuesday, February 25

We had breakfast together and further time for visiting and conversation. We gathered in our family circle to pray and said goodbye as they headed back to Louisiana. We look forward to the next time we can be together.
