Redtail Hawk

One of the best views we have gotten of the redtail hawk. We have regular "hawk alerts" when all the birds disappear from the feeders, but the birds see the hawks better and quicker than we do.

Our first view of the hawk was as he was sitting on the east fence in the back yard at 7:10pm. He was definitely surveying the area for supper.

After a couple of minutes he flew up to this tree limb closer to the house. He certainly surveyed the whole area.

After he surveyed and apparently didn't find a candidate for supper, he lifted off at 7:13.
