Enjoying the Spring Birds and Flowers

This is our first hydrangea to bloom in the spring, and we really like the delicate beauty of this one. This image and the two below were on June 3.

The bloom at right is the first bloom on this young hydrangea which we planted about three years ago. I was surprised at the brightly colored tips - I had never seen such a hydrangea. In contrast, the blue hydrangea below is from our oldest plant, present when we moved here, so it is well over 50 years old! It had not bloomed the last couple of years, so we were blessed this year.

Another view of our youngest hydrangea. June 5.

Brenda had gotten this hydrangea as a small plant about three years ago, and this was the first time it had bloomed. But this was a dramatic debut! I don't think I've seen a prettier hydrangea bloom. June 17.

When we returned from Pearl River on June 23, we found this hydrangea in bloom by the parking pad. It was the first blooming for it as well, so we have been pleased with our hydrangeas this spring.
