Visit With a Redtailed Hawk
February 7, 2008
 | I saw this hawk fly into the back yard across the street, and thought it was worth a try to take a picture of it. To my surprise, it sat there patiently when I came into the yard. It may have a nest there, but I could never confirm it. It was certainly a thick pine bough it was sitting on, and it gave him a clear view of the back yard. |
Other than moving its head to follow me, it did not move while I was watching it. | |
I was very pleased to get to watch the hawk for a few minutes, and then I went on my way. I doubt if the hawk had as pleasant a feeling about the encounter - I may have just hindered him from finding lunch.
