Jordan and Kylea come to get the blue Sienna

February 8-9, 2019

We had breakfast with Jordan and Kylea Milton a little after 9am after we all got in late from the airport last night. We had been making plans for a couple of weeks for them to fly up from New Orleans and drive our 2006 blue Toyota Sienna back to Louisiana for the family's use.

They were due in from New Orleans about 10:30pm on Friday night, Feb 8, so we drove out to the airport to get there a little early and wait in the cell phone lot for them to call us when they landed. It turned out to be more of an adventure than we had planned on when we found the cell phone lot blocked off by a vehicle, and then found that the normal access to the baggage area was totally closed by construction. Everyone was being routed to the lower level in long, slow lines. So I had to drop Brenda off in that lower area to go up to the baggage area upstairs to meet the girls. I made the loop around several detours to get back to the cell phone lot, which was now unblocked. But then I found that I had lost my cell phone - it had slipped off to the opposite side of the car, and my search of the car was fruitless - so I had no way to contact them. OK, my only option was to take the slow loop again and hope that Brenda brought them back to the place where I let her off. After I had made the torturous loop through all the detours and back four times, I was very glad to see the three of them waiting for me! It was close to midnight by the time we got home and to bed.

We were very pleased that Mark could get loose to come out and visit with us and the girls. He is in his third season as Construction Foreman for set construction for the TV series Greenleaf, and stays very busy.

It was great to have a little time to visit before Jordan and Kylea had to head back south. They both had agendas for Sunday. Kylea made the family picture for us.

It was fun to sit and talk for a while. Mark shared a bit with us about what he was doing on the movie sets, but then he had to go to make arrangements for some set that was to be used early in the week. It was a joy to have the visiting time. We heard a bit from Jordan about her activities and the small church that she and Ashleigh and a number of the students are attending. We are proud of hers and Ashleigh's active involvement in the Baptist Campus Ministry that draws students from both Loyola and Tulane.
All too soon they had to be on their way. Brenda had taken the Sienna out to get it washed and cleaned up. Then she had to say goodbye to her car of the past 12 years that had served her so well.

We listened to hear that Jordan and Kylea made the trip to Pearl River fine, and we hope the car will serve the family well.
