Winter of 1974

January is a good time for indoor activities. Rod made up an easel in the basement for the boys, and Mark is having a hand at painting.

And when the weather does get warm enough to get outside, if you are lucky you can get a ride.

The leaf raking and yard cleanup usually got done in about March, although it was always intended earlier. The boys helped more and more as they grew, and it was part of our family tradition.

Rod was gradually collecting tools for a woodworking shop. He is using the table saw here, with the radial-arm saw in the background. Also in the background is the laundry chute from the upstairs bathroom. It was one of Rod's first big projects in the house.
