The winter had hung on through February, but now on March 7 our yellow crocus were coming out with luxurious color.

Jeff and Mark with Bernie

The boys enjoyed playing around in the yard with Bernie, our new dog. Brenda got Bernie from Avery Bales, a Georgia Baptist graduate a year ahead of Brenda. Bernie had belonged to her Aunt, who had had to go to a nursing home. Avery overheard Brenda talking about getting a dog for the boys, and talked her into taking Bernie. A friend of hers brought the dog to Brenda at work at the end of the day on April 7, and Brenda brought Bernie home to the boys. April 9, 1978. 		Index
