This sample of tugtupite is displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Tugtupite is a silicate mineral of beryllium and sodium which also contains chlorine. It has the composition Na4(AlBeSi4O12)Cl. This sample is about 11x11 cm and is from Ilimaussaq, Kvanefjeld, Greenland. Tugtupite is typically red, but white also occurs.
