Brochantite

Cu4SO4(OH)6

This sample of brochantite is displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Brochantite is a sulfate mineral of copper with the composition Cu4SO4(OH)6. The sample at left is about 10 cm across and is from Shattuck shaft, Bisbee, Arizona. The sample is described as brochanite with antlerite.
