Manganaxinite

Ca2MnAl2(BO3OH)(SiO3)4

This sample of manganaxinite is displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Manganaxinite is a borosilicate mineral of manganese and boron with the composition Ca2MnAl2(BO3OH)(SiO3)4. The sample at left is about 15 cm across and is from Franklin, New Jersey. It is described as manganaxinite with franklinite and willemite. The typical color is brown to golden yellow.
