Cu₅(PO₄)₂(OH)₄

This sample of pseudomalachite is displayed in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Pseudomalachite is a phosphate mineral of copper with composition Cu₅(PO₄)₂(OH)₄. This specimen is about 4x6 cm wide and is from L'ubietova, Slovensko, Slovakia. As suggested by the name, it is similar to malachite as a copper compound but is a phosphate while malachite is a carbonate.

This sample of pseudomalichite is about 5x8 cm and is from D. R. Congo.
