Reef Bowl

When we arrived at this site, the Captain anchored at a permanent anchor point in a sand bowl surrounded by reef. The fish knew this anchor point, for as soon as Mark's fins hit the sandy bottom he was surrounded by yellowtail snappers and jacks who were accustomed to being fed. The surrounding reef was healthy and showed little damage.

These are a few of the types of fish we found around the rim of the bowl. A yellow tailed jack above, a squirrelfish upper right and a blue tang at right.
