Trip to Nashville and the Opryland Hotel

November 25-26, 2003

On Tuesday, November 25 we all climbed into Jeff's van and headed for Nashville, about four hours away. As Mark described it "seven Naves in a van", a rare opportunity for our whole immediate family to be together. Brenda and Rod had enjoyed the Christmas decorations at the Opryland Hotel so much last year, Brenda made arrangements for all of us to go up for a night. Jeff took the shot above of our room on the top level overlooking the garden - the one with the lights on just behind the big ball. We hadn't reserved that fancy a room, but they gave Brenda an upgrade when she checked us in.

Jordan with Grandparents Brenda and Rod by a poinsettia Christmas tree.

Brenda had thought Ashleigh and Jordan would be very excited about the extravagant Christmas decorations in the huge gardens, and she was certainly not disappointed by their reaction.

Jordan clowns around on the decorated walkway over the garden.

Ashleigh and Jordan were mesmerized by the huge Christmas trees with all their lights.

Jordan encounters two friendly jesters along the walkway. We got to see t hem again in the yuletide musical programs that night.

There was a large scale nativity scene outside around one of the pools. At right, Jordan and Ashleigh with one of the shepherds.
