Trip to Warm Springs to Visit Mark

Callaway Gardens

In the afternoon we drove through Roosevelt State Park and over to Callaway Gardens for a visit before returning home.

The most amazing thing at Callaway Gardens to me is the set of exquisitely fashioned sculptures of Georgia's endangered wildflowers, made from copper with tools like those shown here.

Rocks, sticks, acorns and other natural objects were included with the sculptures to create a natural look.

It was hard to believe that these delicate flower features were all created from copper leaf and wire and carefully painted to match the colors of the natural plants.

The Sibley Horticulture Center is always a treat. At this time they had a profusion of mums of all descriptions.

Brenda liked the elephant sculpted from ivy. There were lots of animals formed from live plants. Rod checks out a seal.
