Farewell Breakfast, Newport High School 50th Reunion, 1957 Class
October 21, 2007
After our banquet, our last formal event was a farewell breakfast at the Depot Diner, sponsored by Tom Fife's company, Morgan-Keegan. Earl Rawlings was the inspirational speaker for the event. The attendance was close to 50 persons.

Earl brought an enthusiastic message on reunions, here and hereafter. He talked about the differences we had as students and how we now had reached the point that we could set those differences aside in reunion. He even sang a song "Once on a Hillside", interspersing his remarks.
Earl Don was well received, and we had another great time of fellowship.
| This surprisingly large turnout for an early morning breakfast underscored the fact that we were having a lot of fun talking to each other. Bootie Alvis, Grant Brinsfield and Earl Rawlings. |
We moved toward our goodbyes and expressions of appreciation for the work and planning that had gone into the event. Thanks to Shirley and John Baker for making our group photograph.
| Thanks to Tom Fife and to Morgan Keegan for the wonderful breakfast gathering. Tom was very gracious in thanking all the folks from Newport and around for a great effort in making this reunion possible, so we all add our thanks to those who worked so hard for us. |
