Preparation of Thanksgiving Dinner

Preparation for the big dinner began early, with Jordan setting the table and Elyse working on the seven-layer salad.

But there were many distractions, like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade which we had on several TVs. But the thing that captured the whole family was the National Dog Show which airs in the middle of the Macy's Parade. I guess in honor of their dogs Olive and Scarlet at home, they took in the big dog show.

Things were back in full swing in the kitchen when Stacy arrived and was greeted by Elyse and Marty.

An enjoyable time of sharing and conversation continued in the midst of food preparation.

Jordan brings out the big turkey plate, so the turkey can't be far behind. Thanks to Marty for cooking the turkey. Jordan takes the first round of carving on the bird.

Jeff and Mark get engaged with some heavy-duty carving.

Even a dead turkey can fight back, but ultimately it was beautifully carved and placed on the table, and we were ready for the family gathering.
