Graveside Service, Monument Hill

September 21, 2019

Mary had invited us over to their house at 7am on Saturday since she was going to be putting together the floral arrangement for the casket. It gave us another opportunity to visit with the family, and they even fed us breakfast!

All of us were fascinated to see Mary expertly shape the beautiful floral arrangement for the casket.

It was particularly delightful to get to meet Logan and Carley, the children of Mary and John's daughter Julie and her husband Chris Davidson,

Time to get Logan and Carley ready for the trip up to Woodland. They really dressed up nicely!

On this beautiful clear day, we drove northward to Woodland and the Monument Hill Memorial Park which is a short distance west of town. The road north was through flat farmland with mountains to the west. Though dry at this time of year, there is enough water for abundant grain crops and orchards of both nuts and fruits.

When we reached Monument Hill, Bob brings in and places Mary's beautiful flower arrangement.

Chris and Julie Davidson. Chris and Bob are dressed nicely and act as pallbearers. Julie has her guitar to lead our singing. Danielle and Vanessa at right.

Bethany, Hailey and Mom Heather Miles arrive, Brenda Nave, Julie and Chris Davidson.

Wanda Hobson talks with Brenda. Dasha brings in John Kilpatrick, Mary Kilpatrick talks with a couple who were close friends of Wanda and Charles when they were active members of the Woodland United Fellowship Church. Danielle talks with Kenny and Fawn Charette.

Carley and Logan Davidson were our delightful and beautiful examples of the new life that the Lord gives us. We are reminded that His mercies and grace are new every morning.

The family fellowship as we gather. Vanessa Hobson, Heather and Bethany Miles, Bob Hobson, Brenda with Wanda Hobson, Danielle, Dasha, Danny Hobson and Mary Kilpatrick.

Pastor Carl Morgan of the Woodland United Fellowship Church arrived and Bob and Mary talk with him. He had been Wanda and Charles' Pastor for several years and conducted the service for Charles in 2009. Charles served as Minister to Seniors in that church, and Wanda had ministries to the Spanish community.

More of the family gathers. Fawn, Roy Kilpatrick and with little Kylie, Dasha, Dennis Hobson and Kim Neal.

Julie greets Roy and little Kylie.

Roy greets Wanda and the family gathering continues.
Fawn with Kenny, Danielle and Dasha.

The service starts and Julie plays guitar and she and Mary lead us in singing.

Pastor Morgan celebrates the lives of Wanda and Charles, and celebrates life with us.

The placing of roses with the floral display was a meaningful time of remembrance for the family.

Roy, Julie and Carley.

Grandmother Mary holds Carley for placing a rose. Dasha, Hailey and Bethany have their moments of remembrance.
