Fall ActivitiesOur church has been decorated for Christmas and Pastor Doug Thompson is preaching a message about hope. Tis the season! November 29.
Sherry had given us the gift of a framework with perches and a water dish for the hummingbirds. On December 6, the hummingbirds had gone south, but the titmice were appreciative of the water dish and used it as a platform for approach to their favorite peanut feeder. Judging from the small beak and the eyes, I would judge that this is a juvenile titmouse. Sunday School has been very different since the outbreak of Covid! Starting at the end of April, we did Sunday School strictly by zoom from home for about 12 weeks. Then in September, Rod taught the Sunday School in the sanctuary for all adults most Sundays, with 2 lessons by Jo Templeton, 2 by Bret Graham, and one by Wayne Morgan. We were assigned the music suite for our class since it was large enough for social distancing, and moved back to meeting our classes in person on December 6. This picture is on December 13 when we put the session on zoom and Stella Davis joined us by that medium. I pointed a camera at the group for those on zoom. On Sunday evening, December 13, the choir presented the Christmas musical "Christmas Changes Everything!". The soloists were Mike Davis, Narah Davis, Janet Vineyard, Jennifer Smith, and Matthew Smith. Jennifer and Eddie Good did a duet. The narrator was Joe Taylor. We appreciated the leadership of Ryan Ayers who got us all together, and hope it was a blessing to him.
The youth and Awanas presented their "Stories and Songs" program on December 9. |
