Return from Bethany Beach

July 11, 2021

Jeff and family arrived back at our house on Saturday and were able to attend church with us on Sunday morning. They were greeted enthusiastically by lots of folks, including Anita Hardie here, and Bobbie Jackson below.

The folks at church are always glad to see the family, and that is a blessing to us. Betsy Weaver and Karla Ayers have just greeted them.

We again got the blessing of visiting with Jeff and family on their return from Bethany Beach. Mark was able to join us for Sunday dinner.

When Jeff and Mark get together, they typically hatch up some kind of project. We had a dead limb hanging in view of our window for about a year, and they took on the challenge of getting it down. It was about 40ft up, so tossing a weight over it was a considerable challenge.

Ashleigh has a go at the challenging throw. I didn't count the throws, but it took a while to get one in the needed place to pull the limb.

Ashleigh, Jordan and Darla watch from the yard while Brenda and Rod watch the process from the big windows.

Finally a successful throw was made and the limb dragged down to the ground in fragments. We were very pleased because that big dead limb spoiled the view of the nice oak tree just outside our window. It is good to have offspring who have the skill and stubbornness to stick to the task until it is done.

It was a blessing, as always, to get to spend some time with Jeff and family, and great to get Mark to join us.
