Thanksgiving Day

Since Jordan and Luke did not arrive until nearly 11pm last night, this was the first time we had gotten these four together. Ashleigh and Elise had arrived by Uber about 7:30pm. We got them together about 9am, after they had done their morning walk or run.

Ashleigh is just back from a phase of her Medical School at Norfolk, VA. Discussion of that led to her measuring Luke's blood pressure with Rod's cuff and her stethoscope.

The kitchen bar is a good place for conversation. About 10am Luke and Jordan talk with Darla, Shirley, and Jeff.

About 10:;15 Mark arrived with Pumpkin, their pitfall dog. She was friendly and made a big hit with Jordan, Ashleigh, Luke, Darla and Shirley.

Elyse gets to meet Pumpkin by the Christmas tree and they played with the dog toy.

Brenda, Shirley, Ashleigh and Darla are busy in the kitchen finishing pies and other delicious food.

In breaks from the food prep, they took in parts of the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and played with the dog.

Back to food preparation for Ashleigh, Brenda, Shirley and Elyse. Mostly salad preparation about 10:40.

Mark gets involved with Jordan, Ashleigh, Elyse and Shirley in the food preparation.

With this food team involved, the dishes are nearly complete.

Jordan and Luke took on the task of decorating the dining table, including the nicely folded napkins.

With their decorative touch, the table is ready for our Thanksgiving meal.

There was still time for little breaks to catch pieces of the National Dog Show that followed the Thanksgiving Parade.

As the final step before sitting down to our Thanksgiving meal, Ashleigh carves the turkey! Thanks to her willingness and surgical skill, and thanks to Marty for procuring and cooking the turkey for us.
