SummerFall Awana at MFBC

Not many Awanas showed up tonight, it being summer and just after VBS. One activity was contributing to coloring summer activities poster.

One opening activity was to continue coloring the summer activity poster.

One of our summer exercises is to help the Awana boys and girls to learn the books of the Bible. To help with this we have a box of cards with the names of the Bible books.

The Awanas worked to place the Bible book cards in order for Old Testament and New Testament.

The next Bible book learning exercise is to color and cut out a circular illustration of the Bible.

The next step was to make a rectangular opening in the illustration and superimpose it over a circular list of New Testament books so that you could rotate it and see specific Bible books in order.

As a treat after these Bible study exercise we had flavored popsicles

We informally recognized Lotte again as our present champion in terms of Bible study advancements.

Our opening recreation for this Awana evening was a Bingo game called by Ms Becky.

We also recognized two birthdays and sang "Happy Birthday" to them.

Next comes snack time with Johnny Huffman joining the Awana boys.

This evening we had Bible study sheets along with the popsicle snacks

There is a little time left to add more color to the sumer activities poster.

Ms Becky gives directions for this week in Awana.

Again the agenda is to learn the books of the Bible, aided by the cards with the names of the books. These Awana boys work to line the books up in order.

Billy Ridgway, Tony Mode, and Johnny Huffman join these Awanas to line up the Bible books in order.

The guys down on the carpet are also making progress with putting the books of the Bible in order.

The next agenda is looking up specific verses in the Bible.

These guys each have a Bible and assigned verses to look up.

Now they have sheets of questions to answer about the Bible verses

This group studies their Bible to fill out their worksheets.

The reward for finishing their study worksheets.

Awanas were asked to be of service in this Awana meeting, first to help unpack the backpacks that our church would provide for school children in our area. We removed the packs from boxes and opened them in preparation for being filled with school supplies.

The Awanas unpacked 250 backpacks from the bulk shipping boxes.

The Awana work in unpacking prepared the backpacks for moving into the sanctuary of the church to prepare for their packing on Sunday July 26.

next the Awanas carried the packs to the front steps of the sanctuary for packing on Sunday.

It was good to see the younger Awanas helping with the placement of the backpacks on the sanctuary steps..

The Awanas continue to bring in more packs and place them on the growing collection on the steps.

The steps of the Sanctuary are filled with backpacks, ready for our church's efforts on Sunday to be of service to the schools.

It's time to have prayer for the backpacks and supplies we will provide to the schools.
