2026Ashleigh and Elyse started the year with western trip with lots of hiking. Jordan's and Luke's January adventure was snowboarding in California's Big Bend. The new year brings us to the beginning of Winter Awana We had our annual "Happy Hearts" luncheon on February 19 at the Olive Restaurant on Thornton Road. We attended the Memorial Service for James "Paul" Marlow on March 7 General Spring Images around home. On March 29 we staged a dramatic Living Last Supper in the MFBC morning worship service. Awana starting in April might be labeled Spring Awana On April 1, Jeff was recognized as being nominated as Reserve Officer of the Year for his work as Chaplain of the Slidell Police Department. On April 12, we began the process of remodeling our backyard sheds to replace the need for our Mableton rented storage. On May 8-10, Jeff made a brief visit on the weekend of his May 8 birthday and May 10 Mothers Day. We held our annual Awana Celebration on May 13 to recognize the Bible Study work of this year. On May 20 Jeff had double knee replacement surgery for which he had carefully prepared. We had one Awana meeting on May 27 and declared that we were starting SummerFall Awana Our 2026 MFBC Vacation Bible School was titled "Illumination Station" and was held on June 7-11. On July 26 the congregation helped with the process of filling the Backpacks for distribution to the schools after the morning worship service. On August 1 we had a Memorial Service for longtime friend Sam Shelton at the 57th Fighter Group restaurant. |
