In Memory of James "Paul" Marlow

March 7, 2026

Brenda and Rod took Sherry with us and attended the memorial service for the first son of Brenda's cousin Jeanette Mitchell, whom everyone knew as "Paul". We had not spent much time with Paul, but went in honor of Jeanette and the other descendants of Brenda's Aunt Dorothy. We had enjoyed a birthday celebration for Aunt dorothy in 2020 and her 80th birthday in 2015 with some of these family members.

Jeanette Mitchell, Brenda, Marie Lewis

Jeanette and Marie are cousins, and that got us to thinking about the family structure. Brenda's father, Herbert Duncan, was the oldest of five children. Younger than he were two sisters, Edna and Eunice, then a brother, Grady, and then his youngest sister, Dorothy. Edna was Marie's mother and Dorothy was Jeanette's mother.

Another view of these family members.

Sherry joins with Jeanette, Brenda and Marie.

This was a good time for Brenda to share personally with Jeanette. She had talked with her on the phone and by texting, but it was good to get together.

A time for sharing and conversation with Jeanette.

Brenda and Jeanette with two of Jeanette's family members. On the left is Kristen Sargent Trenary (husband Tyler). She is Jeanette's granddaughter through Stacy Sargent, Jeanette's second child (after Paul). She is mother to two of Jeanette's great-grandsons, Evan (5) and Levi(4).

Second from left is Jeanette's youngest daughter, Laura Mitchell Davis (Husband Chase). They have two grandchildren of Jeanette, Noelle (10) and Beau(6) and live in Jupiter, FL. These family members were a comfort to Jeanette in this memorial context.

One more time with granddaughter Kristen and daughter Laura.

Sherry had accompanied Brenda and Rod to this memorial service. It was good to share with Marie and Cheryl, and Brenda had a good visit with Jeanette and her granddaughter and youngest daughter.
