Living Last Supper
March 29, 2026
We had a dramatic worship event in the MFBC morning worship service as our Deacons, Elders, and other men dressed in biblical costumes for a portrayal of the Last Supper. Pastor Doug Thompson and Marsha Thompson did wonderful jobs with the narration of the story.
| Members of ur church had crafted the backdrop and set up the table and decorations for the Last Supper. |
The setting was modeled after Leonardo da Vinci's painting of the Last Supper. In 1496 da Vinci was commissioned to paint the Lord's Supper on the wall of the dining hall at the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, Italy.
| This background was used for our opening worship with Pastor Doug leading with guitar and Eddie and Jennifer Good joining him to lead music. |
A local pastor was recruited to play the role of Jesus.
| One by one the disciples entered and hugged Jesus, then hugged each other and engaged in friendly greetings. |
Starting at the right end, those who represented Jesus' disciples were Mike Anthony, Lee Miller, Johnny Huffman, Matthew Smith, Jonatan Coronado, Tony Mode, Zack Thompson, Dennis Luense, Roger Goldsborough, Bob Wade,Barry Long, Lonnie Reyes.
The disciples are now seated with Jesus at the center.
| Jesus has now broken the bread and has passed it along |
The bread is being passed along the table to the disiples
| Now the wine has been passed to the disciples. April 22. |
This is the time for the dialog about Judas and the betrayal. Dennis Luense is Judas, with Zack Thompson and Roger Goldsborough next to him. Roger as Peter is holding a knife! April 21
| With the drama of the table completed, the disciples take on the servant role to serve the Lord's Supper. |
