| We had a small beginning group to start the first Awana meeting of the new year, but we prayed that they would start coming in. |
We had two T&T Awanas who were recognized for Bible learning even though we haven't had an Awana meeting during the Christmas break. And one of these was a new Awana in our group!
| We were encouraged by the fact that when we reached the large group time for the Bible study, we had a large group of Awanas. |

We start Awana meetings with a brief recreational period, and the stacking of cups, large and small, is one of the favorite pastimes.
| There is quite a variety they can get out of combinations of large and small cups. |
Other options include coloring sheets and other kinds of construction
| Awana boys and girls of all sizes find creative ways to arrange the building elements |
Creativity and co-operation is seen in these varied activities. But they were quite cooperative when told that this time was over to move to Bible study themes.
| As an example of this cooperatively, we had an incredible nine boys and girls who had earned awards for Bible study and memory. Seven Sparks Awana ant two T&T Awanas had earned these advancements. |
Another view of this outstanding group of achievers.
| After the awards, Leigh Miller gives directions to the Awanas about the night's plans. |
After the prayer, the Awanas and leaders line up in the hall for snacks. Snacks are taken to their small groups.
| The Sparks gathered for large group time later and Leigh continues the Bible study about Joseph. |
Leigh uses a colored poster to explain about the bad things that happened to Joseph but how God used them for good.
| The Sparks Awanas were attentive and responded well to the questions that Leigh asked them. |
