David E. Moyle
May 20, 1942 - May 18, 2013 | David Edwin Moyle of Pearl River, LA, passed into Heaven on Saturday, May 18, 2013, while surrounded by family at Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe, LA. He was born on May 20, 1942, and passed away just prior to his 71st birthday.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret (Bond) Moyle and his brother Curtis Moyle. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Judith (Baisler) Moyle, his step-mother, Jean Moyle of McKeesport, PA, his children, Debbie (Moyle) Ringo of Mandeville, and Jeff Moyle, Darla (Moyle) Nave and Diane (Moyle) Wells of Pearl River, and his nine grandchildren: Jonathan, Jessica, Ashleigh, Jordan, Bethany, Lindsey, Caleb, Elyse and Josiah.
A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Dave was a resident of Pearl River for the past 33 years. Before beginning a career in accounting and finance, he earned a BA degree from Thiel College and and MBA degree from Duquesne University. After college, Dave was initially employed as an accountant with Babcock and Wilcox in Beaver Falls, PA and later with McDermott International in New Orleans. For the past 29 years, Dave was the owner and later managing partner with his son, Jeff, of Moyle and Associates, Certified Public Accountants in Slidell. When not investing his free time with his family, Dave volunteered in a variety of ministries at Peace Lutheran Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher, music minister, and president of the church council for many years. Dave was also instrumental in spearheading construction of the church's mission center to be used in support of volunteer work and other community services. Socially, he was a member of the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants and Sigma Phi Epsilon social fraternity. |

The memorial service was held in the sanctuary of Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Barbara Simmers leading the service. Besides the participation of the group of friends and family, the choir sang a favorite piece. The choir members were persons whom Dave and Judy have worked with for many years in the music program of Peace Lutheran.
After the service, a large crowd of friends and family gathered in the Peace Mission Center where a trio sang favorite songs, there were fine cakes and an abundance of food for the celebration that Dave wanted to happen.
Jonathan, Jessica, Debbie, and Tom Ringo left, and Jeff and Darla right.
Josiah, Robbie, Caleb and Diane left. Jessica, Jordan, Lindsey, Jeff and Ashleigh right.
A host of folks came to share memories with Judy, so there was a long line for over an hour, during which she stood. She finally sat down to eat, but their were still many well-wishers with her for a couple of hours. It was a beautiful time of remembrance.
Brenda with Ashleigh. We were privileged to be a part of the celebration of Dave's life since three of his nine grandchildren are our grandchildren as well. Brenda is fond of saying that we have been adopted into the family with all nine grandchildren.
| I was looking for an opportunity for some group pictures of the grandchildren, and it started happening late in the time of celebration as they started relaxing and playing together around the stage area. |
We got a little more formal location and got Jessica and Jonathan to join us. Oops! Now we've lost the youngest, Josiah!
| Ashleigh collects Josiah, so now we have all nine! |
Now we had the children, Jeff Moyle, Debbie Moyle Ringo, Darla Moyle Nave and Diane Moyle Wells.
| Now adding the spouses on the back row: Leslie Moyle, Tom Ringo, Robbie Wells and Jeff Nave. |
Judy with children and spouses.

Seated: Darla, Judy, Judy's sister-in-law Charlene, Debbie and Diane. Standing: Jeff Moyle, Charlene's daughters Christa and Caryn, Caryn's husband Volus McKenna.
Judy with Rod and Brenda left, and with Pastors Sandra Barnes and Barbara Simmers right.
| As the fellowship continued into the evening, the grandchildren enjoyed playing together. This bunch has always enjoyed being together, and they will find something to entertain the group. Here, they have found enough musical instruments, or made them, to have a fun jam session. |
This tradition of fellowship and fun extends down to the youngest, Elyse and Josiah!
