Spring activities 2021

On Monday, May 17, we spent our last day in Louisiana. We were pleased to get to visit with Ashleigh, even though part of our conversation was with her underneath her car changing the oil. We are very proud that she has finished her first year of Medical School at LSU and is going to shadow an orthopedic surgeon in his practice early this summer. As further evidence of her versatility, Brenda spent time with her buying cloth so she could make her suit for participation in a friend's wedding.

We visited with the family and went out to the Radio Road property briefly for Rod to finish some details on his survey of the electrical system. But it was pouring rain, so we didn't stay long. We had dinner with Jeff and Darla and said our goodbyes for this trip.

On Tuesday May 18 we loaded the car in an intense downpour and headed north in heavy rain. It had been a very wet period in Louisiana, with 18 inches of rain in Lake Charles! But after about a hundred miles of hard rain, it moderated and we had a smooth trip home.

Later that day, Jeff and Darla were back at Radio Road, and Jeff was continuing his process of replacing the old fluorescent tubes with thin LED bulbs. He has jus replaced six of them in this location in the big generator room.

Jeff builds stair to attic

On Wednesday night May 19 Rod was back at Awana and Elaine Ridgway led us in a fun time, sending a puzzle to Becky Ridgway and group at Amelia Island. Then we had a good choir practice.

On May 24, Jeff and Darla were back at Radio Road finishing up the tall stair to provide access to the big attic of the building.

This stairway is in the large room that houses the heating and air conditioning units for the building.
