Awana Awards Night
May 17, 2023
This was our special Awana awards night ceremony to recognize the accomplishments of the Awana students. It was followed by the Awana Store where they could exchange the points they had earned during the year for prizes.
We recognize achievements in the Awana meetings by giving out awards after the pledges. Here Becky gives out the current awards to the Sparks students.
| Four awards are given to students in the Truth and Training division. |
The first group of awards was to the Cubbies, the three and four-year-old group. Their leaders were Wanda Willey, Marina Thompson and Donna Rosser.
| Additional award given to these four cubbies. |
The next group for awards was the Sparks group for Kindergarten and First Grade. Leader Billy Ridgway with others Elaine Ridgway, Theresa Lamb, Lorraine Shaw, and Melissa Little.
| The previous group was joined on the left by the two Second Grade Sparks. The top award was the "Sparky Award" which was won by Lotte Matichak. The Second Grade leaders were Barbara Porter, Rod Nave and Brenda Nave. |
We celebrated the graduation of the two Second Grade Sparks up to the Truth and Training division as they enter Third Grade.
Four members of the Truth and Training group received awards. Their leaders were Tony Mode, Johnny Huffman, Brenda Speight, Gail Wade, Bob Wade and Elaine Ridgway. Also Ricky Ridgway who was on the sound board.
| All four of these T&T Awanas completely finished their books this year. |
We had a special recognition for Aimy, who learned her Bible verses in both English and Spanish. We also recognized Gail Wade, who speaks Spanish, for her mentoring of Aimy. Upon that recognition, Aimy ran up and hugged Gail!
| These four T&T Bible learners also received Awana medals. |
These Awanas from all three groups received high attendance awards.
| The final set of awards for Awanas from the three divisions. |
After ending the Award session in prayer, the Awana students were called in descending order of the number of points they had earned during the year. They and their parents could then proceed across the hall to the Awana Store that had been set up and which was manned by the Youth Department.
