Graduation Party for Elyse

May 6

We had planned a graduation party after Elyse's graduation at Radio Road. Ashleigh had found a set of gold letters from which to make up a celebration banner, and this is what we came up with.

The plan had been to have a crawfish boil with Jeff Moyle as chief cook as usual. But the weather had been very uncooperative with a downpour most of the day. So they set up the boilers under tents in front of the house. Mark and Ashleigh help Jeff Moyle sort the ingredients.

Preparations are also underway in the big new kitchen.

A table had been set up for cards and congratulations and best wishes for Elyse.

The party was scheduled to start about 3pm, and Elyse arrived with four of her friends. Fortunately, the pouring rain had stopped, but there was still evidence of it.

The party was underway with Elyse and her friends, and everyone seemed to have a good time.

The snack foods for the party were set out on the bar with seating there and elsewhere in the great room.

The crawfish boil has been successful despite the rain, and Mark dumps a tubful on one of the prepared tables.

Two tables have been prepared on the front porch by covering them with newspaper. They will be covered with red broiled crawfish.

One of Grammy Judy's contributions to the celebration was sweet treats with a graduation theme.

Grammy's graduation caps were very popular.

The kitchen becomes more popular as they start with the finger foods.

The front porch becomes busy as folks gather in the broilec crawfish.

The other end of the porch was also busy with taking in crawfish.

Ashleigh and her friend demonstrate expertise in preparing the crawfish to eat.

Jeff Moyle, Jeff Nave and Mark Nave enjoy food from outside and inside.

Darla and Elyse put the finishing touches on a fancy dessert.

After the fine meal, there was time for games and general fellowship with each other.

One of the game options was pingpong in the corner of the great room.

Another game is underway at the game table, pingpong continues, and Elyse and her three friends have a word association game going.

Elyse and her four friends seem to be having a great time with a game where the group has to reveal to the one who is 'it' the phrase on their head - is it the game 'Heads Up'?

Table games are one of the favorite passtimes for this family at gatherings. They are still going strong.

After our wonderful time of food, fellowship, and games, we ended up with a time of celebration of Elyse's graduation from Pearl River High School. With gifts and congratulations, we point forward to Elyse's further education and general wishes for blessing on her life.
