Rhododendron Garden
April 25, 2023
Tuesday was a beautiful day, so we took the opportunity for a walk through the Rhododendron garden, which we have done several times. We found it considerably expanded, with a number of new memorial benches where you could sit and enjoy the beauty.
| When we started down the path, we found large Rhododendrons in full bloom.
The path made a large loop down toward the shore of Lake Chatuge with an extra loop that got close to the waters edge. |
The walk gave us pleasant woodland views with the beauty of the Rhododendron blooms all around us.
This beautiful purple was probably the most displayed variety of Rhododendron in the garden.
| Rod is generally not keen on selfies, but the chance to appear with this sweet lady in the beautiful Rhododendrons overcame his reticence. |
An occasional bright orange Rhododendron provided contrast with the purple and violet.
| Brenda with another luxurious purple background Rhododendron. |
| Occasionally a light violet Rhododendron provided some contrast with the more abundant darker purple variety.
The trail wound around through the colorful plants and usually was giving us some view of the lake below us. |
The pink of this Rhododendron with the blue of the lake made a nice combination.
| The occasional orange Rhododendron was quite a contrast to the more abundant purple and violet. |
We exchanged photo shooting with others who were also enjoying the trail.
| The winding pathway provided us with a lovely variety of plants with the lake as background. |
It was hard to beat the beauty of these rich purple blooms!
