Ashleigh Gets to See Snow in Sequoia!

February 23, 2025

It is understandable that Ashleigh in California would be disappointed at not being able to directly experience the extraordinary snow in Pearl River, Louisiana ! But in February she took steps to overcome that disappointment by making a trip to the Sequoia National Park!

By driving up to Sequoia National Park from her house in Oceanside, California, which is a 15minute walk from the Pacific Ocean, she got to see plenty of snow!

According to Google Maps, it is just under 300 miles and about 5 hours from Oceanside, California to Sequoia National Park.

It appears that she stopped at a gift shop along the way to procure an appropriate vest for the visit.

Certainly one of the favorite stops is at the great General Sherman tree!

Ashleigh seems to be swallowed up by this large gap in the base of one of the huge trees. At least the gap seems large until you compare it to the incredible height of these tall trees.

Awesome height of these Sequoias!

With her adventure in the tall trees of Sequoia National Park, Ashleigh had indeed found a scene comparable to what her family had experienced in Pearl River.

With snow nearly knee-deep, she almost matched the Pearl River depth!

We were glad to see the children in Awana for the new year
