Early Morning at Yaki Point

When the early moring sun did finally strike some of the prominent ridges of the canyon, it was breathtaking. This was the character of the Canyon which we had seen in so many pictures, but it was so much more impressive to be standing on the edge of it. August 6, 1982

Brenda and I stood and watched the brightening sky for about 30 minutes while the boys fed squirrels and chased around. In retrospect, we can see some of the features of the Kaibab Trail in this picture, which Rod, Jeff and Mark explored later in the morning. August 6, 1982
