Jeff and Mark with Bernie The boys enjoyed playing around in the yard with Bernie, our new dog. Brenda got Bernie from Avery Bales, a Georgia Baptist graduate a year ahead of Brenda. Bernie had belonged to her Aunt, who had had to go to a nursing home. Avery overheard Brenda talking about getting a dog for the boys, and talked her into taking Bernie. A friend of hers brought the dog to Brenda at work at the end of the day on April 7, and Brenda brought Bernie home to the boys. April 9, 1978.
