Brenda won first place in the Church Training Associational Speakers Tournament in March 1958. Second was Alyse Dunn. Both of them had attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, but now Brenda was attending Hillcrest Baptist and was representing them. Brenda went to the Regional Speakers Tournament at Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta.
