Celebrating Leland's Third Birthday

Janet looks on as Leland blows out the candle on his third birthday cake. His birthday is September 20. This is at the kitchen table in Aunt Pearl's house in Newport.

The things which are neat in retrospect in this sequence are Leland's obvious joy and the way his older sister is obviously pampering him. She is mature enough to indulge him his special day and to be a real help in the process.
