Mark and Rod Build Deck Extension and Shed

August 3-7, 1989

Rod and Mark went to Bent Tree on August 3 and had gotten the joists for a side shed put together.

Below, Rod and Mark take turns holding up the joists for the other to work.

We made it to the roof of the shed and Mark is nailing down the roof decking.

Rod trims off the excess roof decking and we start the shingles.

We finished the approach platform for the shed, and Rod is laying out the steps from that platform to the shed door.

Since we were making concrete anyway for the deck footings, Mark takes some time off from that project to patch the rock steps to the parking pad.

Rod cuts the stringers for the steps leading from the ground at the end of the lower deck to the approach deck to the shed.

Mark sets up the short stair stringers for the steps leading up from the shed platform to the shed door.

Rod finishing up the stair rail for the steps leading from the ground to the shed platform. It was a privilege to work with Mark since he worked hard and was developing all kinds of building skills.
