Chefs Jan and Bobbie Boal had prepared an elegant meal and nice sparkling water, but the think that still sticks in my mind the most were the salads which were lovely bouquets of flowers. Jan had put together salads of edible flowers! I had never heard of such a thing! Thanks to Jan and Bobbie for a really extraordinary and enjoyable evening.

Jan was active in the Georgia Tech BSU a few years before my time. He went on to get a Ph D in Mathematics and I got to know him on the math faculty of Georgia State University. He became head of the Math Department, but then after a few years at that he retired and he and Bobbie took on a labor of love running The Veranda in Senoia.
