Threonine
Threonine is synthesized from aspartate in bacteria such as E. coli. It is a precursor of glycine, and can be used as a prodrug to reliably elevate brain glycine levels. * Amino acids which are essential amino acids which cannot be made by the human body and, therefore, must be obtained in the diet.
