Visit with Ronnie and Shirley

July 21, 2001

Shirley had just finished intense summer courses, and Rod was just finishing up his Conceptual Physics course. Shirley and Ronnie came down for a few days of relaxation and we wound up at the Peachtree Plaza for lunch.

The revolving restaurant on the 72nd floor of the hotel is a great vantage point for seeing downtown Atlanta. We looked down on the Olympic Village at Georgia Tech and the expressway between Tech and the Varsity.

Rod was supposed to come up with five things he had never done as a part of celebration of his birthday, and one of those was to walk through Centennial Olympic Park. We got these views of Ronnie and Shirley at the fountain in the park. We shared it with probably fifty kids who were playing in the water.
