Ashleigh in uniform on the morning of her graduation from the Navy officer training program in Newport, Rhode Island. She traveled to Newport just after her last exam to finish her second year at LSU Medical School.

There was an impressive lineup of the participants in the training. I'm including a series of photos I got from Jeff, but I don't understand the sequence of events. Ashleigh is fifth from right on the front row.

After all the formality, I liked this casual view.

This group of five of the participants shows the two different styles of uniforms. The new movie with Tom Cruise was getting a lot of publicity, and they posed in front of a big poster advertising it.

It was good to see that they had some free time, even though in uniform. I'm presuming that this is in Newport.

I didn't get the whole story here, but it seems that their group painted a poster on a concrete block wall. They were going to include an image of Tom Cruise, and Ashleigh took on the task of painting that image because she wanted it to look good. It does indeed look good, and keeps us wondering whether she will use that artistic talent for medical illustration in the future.

They also had camouflage uniforms and were subject to inspections in formation. It is interesting that they were all carrying notebooks while in this formation.

We were glad to see a picture of Ashleigh with a ship since she was engaged in and intense connection with the Navy.

Jeff and Darla flew up to celebrate the occasion with Ashleigh and got to explore the waterfront areas. This was a view of them with Boston in the background. I had presumed that it was Providence, RI since that is so close to Newport, but they had gotten to do some exploration of the Boston waterfront area.

We were glad to see that Darla and Jeff got at least some relaxation time with Ashleigh. It appears that they got really good weather for their visit. I'm presuming that this is in Newport, RI.
