Spring Awana at MFBC

April 10, 2024

Our beginning game time was various versions of the jenga game, where they try to pull out pieces to build a tower without toppling it.

Laura Mode observes as these two Awana sisters build a tiny jenga tower.

At the other extreme, these Awanas build a tower with large pieces. This set was made by Billy Ridgway with 2x4 lengths.

This big jenga captured the attention of much of the group.

The excitement builds as the tower gets higher and higher. And more and more unstable!

There she goes! Most of the Awanas have fled!

A major jenga collapse! But no Awanas were injured. This has been one of our more exciting pre-Awana games.

After the excitement of the jenga games, we go to our opening ceremony with one of our younger Awanas leading the pledges and being introduced to the group.

Four of our Sparks students earned advancements with scripture memorization, so we had a very active Awana session this evening.

In the opening ceremony, another of our newer Awana students leads the pledges and the Awana cheer. Johnny Huffman introduces her to the group.

We had a great night for advancements with two Sparks and four T&T Awana students receiving awards.

In the Sparks large group, Becky Ridgway is teaching Bible truths and encouraging their daily Bible readings.

Four of our Sparks students earned advancements with scripture memorization

For the large group time,Becky had planned a "write the wall" exercise. Students were to write the word on the numbered wall postings by the numbered line on their clipboard.

After they had traveled the room and written down the words by the numbers, they sat and prepared to read together the verse from the Bible that they had collected.
