Christmas Party for Sunday School Class

Brenda and Rod really wanted to provide a meal for the Sunday School class as a fellowship time and a thank you for the times the class had brought meals to us over the past couple of years. We managed to find a time during the busy December on Friday night, December 15. After exploring several options for catering, Brenda settled on getting ham and turkey and the available side dishes from Honeybaked Ham. We had a final count of eighteen present. The class members brought desserts and Betsy and Keith Weaver came over early to help with the final setup.

Brenda worked during the day to prepare the side dishes, and this was a time of excitement as our friends from the class began to arrive around 6PM. Stella Davis, Cheryl Anthony, Joan Miltiades, Gail Wade, Melissa Little and Karla Ayers visit with one another while Betsy Weaver and Brenda place food items on the bar.

In anticipation of the event, Marty Dye had set up a lighted gift display for when our guests arrived about dark. He also provided a wreath for the door, lighted candles, colored lights for our decorative plants, and large ornaments for the Japanese maple tree in the yard.

It was delightful to experience the gathering of our close friends for just a relaxed celebration. Joan Miltiades, Cheryl Anthony, Keith Weaver, Gail Wade, Karla Ayers. Brenda puts finishing touches on food display.

We start the food line. Melissa Little, Stella Davis, Gail Wade, Dennis Luense, Brenda Luense, Barry Long.

We had one table in our kitchen area with Brenda Luense, Dennis Luense, Keith Weaver, Betsy Weaver, Pastor Doug Thompson, Karla Ayers and Chris Ayers. Rod joined that table.

The meal was followed by an enjoyable time of visiting and conversations. Barry shows some of his pictures of birds, insects, etc.He is an enthusiastic photographer. Keith Weaver, Brenda and Dennis Luense, Barry and Brenda.

The dining room table had filled up and now they were just sitting around enjoying the fellowship after dessert. Joan Miltiades, Gail Wade, Melissa Little. Jennifer Beasley, Brenda, Stella Davis, Mike Anthony, Cheryl Anthony, Bob Wade.

A pleasing time of just sharing with each other.

A wonderful time of conversation. Often a phone and images come into play, although probably not as much as in the younger generation.

Nothing like a relaxed meal and sitting at the table to bring out the sharing of stories.
